Activate schemata to encourage ability to scan read authentic texts
Encourage deeper analysis of text in order to transform information
Develop basic IT skills

Brainstorm qualities of ideal home using language provided

Prepare ‘top 10’ qualities list using language provided in discussion (ss choose whether to do this in Word or on paper)

Students use above criteria to choose a property from websites provided before saving page and printing off image

Students transform information by creating a ‘floor plan’ of the property

Students create a final product and in doing so have the opportunity to reflect on their decisions and motives through a written medium which has similarities in the professional world
Provide an opportunity for peer evaluation
